Painting is a way of expressing the emotions of a person onto paper. Acrylic Paintings are those paintings which are made from acrylic paints.
Acrylic paintings are similar to oil paintings, but they use water and not oil as the base. The acrylic paints come in tubes just like oil paint does.
The acrylic paints are quick drying paints which have ‘ pigment suspension’ into acrylic polymer emulsion.
According to Wikipedia, acrylic paint is fast-drying paint containing pigment suspension in acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints can be diluted with water, but become water-resistant when dry. Depending on how much the paint is diluted (with water) or modified with acrylic gels, media, or pastes, the finished acrylic painting can resemble a watercolour or an oil painting, or have its own unique characteristics not attainable with other media.
You can use them as it is, right from the tubes or, you can add water or acrylic thinner and make them similar to the water colours.
These acrylic paints are actually made from a plastic base, but can be made more fluid using water.
Acrylic paints have a lot of advantages.
The advantage is that they dry off quickly as opposed to the oil paints, which may take a longer period of time.
Apart from this, they are also a quick way to learn painting and also easier to mix similar to the oil paints.
